1st-Lt. Nathan West

Nathan West was originally a Tellus Colonist. He and his girlfriend Kylen Celina had always dreamed of going to the stars together.
However, due to some political manoeuvering he was removed from the program at the 11th hour in order to make way for some IV's. His one chance to meet up with Kylen again was that the Marines might be assigned to space sentry duty for the colonies. So he joined up.
Then, the Tellus colony ship was attacked as it approached it's destination. Kylen was now missing, though believed to be alive.
Nathan spent most of the series looking for; or pining after; his lost love, although this was not all there was to him.
Tragedy struck again, later in the series, when West's younger brother joined up and was killed on his very first mission.
It was therefore no surprise that Lieutenant West was rarely seen to smile.
Nathan was probably the best pilot in the squadron, though there was not much between any of them, and despite the fact that West disliked Hawkes at first (due to his recent In-Vitro related experiences) the two eventually worked things out.
This then meant that Cooper and Nate became involved in a friendly rivalry for the 'top' spot in the 'Cards.
Yet when it was required, they were there for each other and the rest of the squadron.
West was brought to life by Morgan Weisser. Mr. Weisser was born in Los Angeles, to a family with an acting background (his father is also in the business).
Although he did not at first want to be an actor, he has proved to be very good at the job.Like a few of his fellow SAaB cast members, Morgan has appeared in episodes of "The X-Files" and "Quantum Leap." He has also been seen in an episode of "Charmed" playing an assassin demon.
